A Cultural Audit conducted by the Department of Student Affairs two years ago, said Ohio University lacked gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender awareness and programming. As a result of this audit, the SafeZone project was created to increase GLBT awareness, which ecompassed more than 100 people at OU.
